SOLEHYPE - THE BIGGEST NAMES IN THE SNEAKER WORLD - INTERVIEW WITH Andres Restrepo @dre_kicks

TH: Can we get a quick intro for the people who may not be familiar? Name, Age, Hometown and Occupation?

DRE: My name is Andres Restrepo and I go by dre. I'm 27 years old, born in Cali, Colombia but my hometown is Long Beach CA. I'm currently a part time student and work full time in sales.

TH: What camera gear do you use for your awesome Instagram shots?

DRE: I have two different cameras. I started with my Canon Rebel t3i and use a 50mm 1.4 Canon lens. That's the lens that helps you get those sharp shots of your kicks with a dreamy background.

I just recently upgrade to a Canon 5d Mark II, it's a full frame camera, that means better quality pictures, but also means coughing up more dough for some new lenses.

TH: Sneakers and Instagram go hand and hand in the world of social media nowadays. What about the two as a whole do you love and hate the most?

DRE: Sneakers to me have always being a passion, but I'm a Jordan head. Ever since I got my first pair of black/chrome 17's back in 02. To me its not about collecting all the Jordan's there are, it's about grabbing a pair that speaks history.

Kicks that have made an impact in my life and also that take me back to the good old days of sneaker collecting.

TH: What specific shoe that you own was the hardest to get and why?

DRE: My hardest sneaker to get was a pair of Deadstock Chicago 1's from 1985.

Reason being was because it took long time to find them with the box and a great price. I'm going to put these up for display.

TH: With 2013 behind us what was your favorite release of the year and why?

DRE: The only shoe I was happy see back this year was the Jordan 5 laney, a long awaited classic.

TH: What Jordan release for 2014 are you looking forward to the most and why?

DRE: I'm looking forward to the September Blue 6's... Those are dope.

TH: Looking back what was the first pair of shoes that really sparked your interest in sneakers and what about that shoe did it for you?

DRE: The Air Jordan 5 Metallic. I remember seeing kids in school wearing those. I love the shape of them and the fat tongue with the Jumpman.

TH: Out of all the first series retro’s and OG Jordan’s you have what is your hands down favorite and why?

DRE: That would be my Jordan True Blue 3's from 88. Those are very precious to me because of the history they tell and the rarity of the shoe.

TH: If you could be a Nike executive for the day what would be the one specific shoe/colorway you would retro immediately and why?

DRE: I would retro the Columbia 11's because I know everybody wants those to come back.

TH: Besides sneakers what’s your biggest guilty pleasure?

DRE: It would probably be my new found love for photography and all the money I'm spending on these lenses. Lol.

TH: Any last words to the people out there?

DRE: I would tell all the sneakerheads out there to stay true to the game and separate yourselves from all the wanna be sneakerheads that bring embarrassment to the game.

Instagram has been a gateway to make connections and friends in the sneaker world and I appreciate all the love and respect I get from my Instagram followers and friends, One love.

TH: Where can everyone find you on social media?

DRE: IG - @dre_kicks
