13 Apps Every Sneakerhead Needs

In this age of social media and just how crutial it is to be connected at all times there are certain apps and services that are a must especially if your a sneakerhead. Years ago when the whole sneaker culture was just starting things were much more simple and on a local level but nowadays thanks to the internet we can search for, buy, sell and network with millions and millions of other sneaker lovers worldwide with the push of a button.

This being said we thought we would present our list of the 13 essential apps that every sneakerhead, running iOS, should have. Keep in mind this is strictly iOS based so Android users sorry on this one even though the majority of these apps have their Android based app as well some unfortunatly have not caught on yet. So continue below for our full list of the 13 apps every sneakerhead should have.

Weather Forecast

First up on the list is our favorite weather app for the iPhone called Weather Forecast. It is essential to know what the weather is outside before you head out for the day especially if you happen to wear the wrong pair of shoes when the weather isn't so lovely outside. The last thing you want to do is ruin one of your favorite sneakers because you didn't know the days forecast. The Weather Forecast app is one of the cleanest and easiest to use weather apps out. Its minimal design and clean interface match perfectly with iOS 7 and gives you some additional data that the stock weather app cant match up with.

Swaag

Swaag is an alternative to the more popular social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter aimed more specifically towards the sneaker and streetwear scene. This app has grown leaps and bounds from where it originally started back when it first launched. You can easily link up with other sneakerheads and streetwear lovers based around the world. You can shop for clothes & sneakers, share photos and get inspiration from other people in the culture with ease.

Unlaced

If there is one specific app that we would recommend that totally encompases everything a sneakerhead needs within one app it might be Unlaced. There are other alternative apps that are similar in nature to Unlaced but none of them can compete when it comes to its clean iOS 7 friendly layout, smooth graphics and the incredible amount of information that is always available at your fingertips 24/7. You can view the latest sneaker news, view an always up to date sneaker release calendar, have release notifications sent to you and also search for sneaker boutiques and retailers no matter where you may be in the world. This app is serious a must have.

Instagram

Instagram more than any other social media platform has touched a cord with the sneaker community in the past few years. It is now a go to source to link up with other sneaker lovers from around the world and also of course share your own personal photos of your favorite kicks. It is a great way to not only meet tons of people who share the same love for sneakers but also a great way to showcase your photography skills for the world to see. And oh ya don't forget to follow us on Instagram as well!

eBay

eBay has been around for ages it seems like and since it's inception it has always been a go to source to buy, sell and find some of the rarest and hardest to find sneakers from different corners of the world. Their iOS app is extremely easy to use and find just about anything in seconds. Stay on top of several different auctions at once with notifications sent directly to your phone to snatch up that rare grail that has been eluding you for years.

Diptic

There are many collage apps out there to pick from but Diptic has been our favorites for some time now. It's simple to use interface paired with its extremely massive library of 165 layouts makes the possibilities endless with this app. All of the finished images are exported in high resolution and 100% retina ready. Bottom line is if your going to make a collage to share on Instagram or Twitter then this is the app to have.

Twitter

With the way sneakers are released nowadays it's almost a neccesity to have Twitter to stay up with Nike's hated Twitter released limited editions. Even though your chances of still securing a pair through this method are small, its still a great way to stay in touch with the sneaker communities biggest names and figures. Release information from the companies themselves, rumors, news and just Twitter rants on the latest release are all common place here.

Camera+

There may not be a more powerful and useful photo editing app available today than Camera+. They have been around since the early stages of the iPhone and with each update more and more features come down the pipeline. One of their most killer features since the last major update is their new and improved Clarity Filter. It has a way of brightening the darkest of pictures without totatly distorting the image and making it grainy which is a hard thing to do. Add that to the other major features like several high quality filters, scene modes, touch exposure and focus, borders and the ability to share photos directly through the app to Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Paypal

Paypal has become the go to source for many vendors and especially if your planning on buying sneakers through eBay. Their native iOS app has been updated to reflect the minimal style in iOS 7 and it's extremly easy to use as well. You can send money directly within the app to purchase a pair of shoes or you can also request money right on the spot as well if your getting rid of a pair. Easily view and manage your money directly within the app with up to the second records of just about any account you input into the system. This is a must have digital money management tool especially if your eBay heavy or purchase shoes from retailers using your Paypal account.

Retailmenot

If your on the hunt for a deal or discount at your favorite online or in store retailer like Finishline, Footlocker etc. then Retailmenot is a must have app. Their iOS app lets your search from thousands of retailers and find the biggest discount available that can be used either as a coupon code online or if their is also an in store coupon you can pull up the coupon on your phone and have the cashier scan it directly from your device. With Finishline and Footlocker almost always having a $15 off $75 coupon available why would't you take advantage of this discount when it's so easy to do.

Deliveries

Ok so you've ordered and secured that latest pair from this weekends release but what about an easy way to track and monitor that shipment as it makes it's way to your doorstep? Deliveries is a super easy to use yet powerful way to always stay up to date on when your package is coming and where they are at the current moment. Simply enter in the tracking number for the package into the app and it will automatically detect which carrier its from and tell you how many days until delivery. With over 30 carrier services supported your sure to always know when your new kicks are coming no matter where you live.

VSCO Cam

If your more into the simple one touch photo editing then VSCO Cam may be your best bet. Its simple yet effective filters are some of the highest quality available on any platform. They have the ability of taking the most mundane image and transforming it into a unique and one of a kind image that is almost always recognizable as a VSCO Cam edit. It's minimal and clean user interface is one of the best out there as well making this a must have simple editing tool for your sneaker pictures.

Whitagram

If your a heavy Instagram user you may already know how annoying it may be that the app will square crop any image you import into the app. While this may not be a big deal if you use the actual Instagram app to take photos, if your like us and prefer to use the native iOS camera app then Whitagram is going to be your next best friend. It's hands down the best app out there to upload the full size image to Instagram with a white background in either portrait or landscape. The app does one thing and one thing only but it does it extremely fast and the exported image is crystal clear which many of the other alternative apps cannot match. You can even export the image directly to Instagram within the Whitagram app itself saving you a step and even take a picture and edit it within the app itself.

  1. I don't see any difference between these great and useful apps. I'm often use https://macphun.com/creativekit for photo editing on my MAC, it's very simple to use and you can easily add a lot of different filters to it.
