STYLEHYPE: STAMPD DEBUTS FW16 "THE NEW SOLDIER" AT NYFWM

Chris Stamp, Creative Director of LA based menswear brand STAMPD, debuted "The New Soldier" FW16 collection at his first NYFWM presentation yesterday morning. The 20 looks from the collection were presented on pedestals that rose above a dense fog that filled platform 3 at Skylight Clarkson North, designed in collaboration with Brooklyn based creative team, Snarkitecture.

The collection focused closely on classic military detailing with a palette centered on natural color, while the construction started with monochromatic cues, transforming down to a washed through color palette that includes angora, shiitake, pewter, and indigo. Victor Cruz attended wearing STAMPDS FW16 Long Cashmere Trench, also worn on model, inspired from a WWI officer coat reinforcing the militant theme throughout the collection.

Other stand out pieces included a grey, alpaca blend, hand woven and distressed turtleneck; reverse, washed down, terry camel travel pant with a rubbed waistband and zipped back pocket; and a quad pocket bomber featuring a removable wool lining, also seen worn as a separate in the collection.

The track, titled “Gone Rogue”, was produced in-house by the STAMPD team’s own Bryant Knight, aligning the military themed collection with the sound track for the presentation.

STAMPD is among a wave of emerging designers redefining modern streetwear and the plans to open their first store in Los Angeles early this year.

This is STAMPD’s 8th collection. Check out all 20 looks below.
